About Us

Bill Arrowood
Executive Director
Location scouting, management and rentals

No stranger to the entertainment business,
Bill Arrowood has been honing his skills in show business since 1978 when he sold tickets to neighborhood kids to watch a bootlegged copy of Star Wars on the family VCR.

A graduate of Messiah College in Grantham, PA, he studied film at Temple University before working on several feature films including The Italian Job, Fallen, Beloved, Snipes and Bikini Bandits.

In addition to his avocation in the film industry, Bill’s resume is well rounded to say the least. He has worked with Jack Utsick Presents (formerly New Park Entertainment), one of the East Coast’s premier talent booking agents.

Additionally his experience with the promotions departments of three radio stations, as an event coordinator for two college campuses and a minor league baseball stadium operator in San Antonio taught him the fine art of shamelessly promoting events and working with the press. As nightclub manager in Maryland he catered to many diverse groups coordinating both entertainment and staff and as the director of an independent film festival in Philadelphia he oversaw marketing campaigns, negotiated venues and wrangled talent and media relations.

Bill has no delusions of grandeur. He never wanted to be a Hollywood director or rock star. He is a small town guy and believes that a handshake and a person’s word are as good as any legal mumbo-jumbo.

He enjoys watching the Price is Right, Elvis movies and sneaking out of work to take in a baseball game.

Ari Afriat-Hyman
Location Scout

Ari Hyman joined Bluestone Road in 2002 and has developed into one of the best location scouts in region.

The Philadelphia native likes to tell people that he was raised on cheesesteaks and Tastycakes. A graduate of Central High and Temple University, Ari has roots and contacts in nearly every facet of the city.

An aspiring director, he has produced and directed several short films including the critically acclaimed, Arresting Developments, which the Equine Cinema called an "erotic masterpiece".

In addition to his work with Bluestone Road, the last two years have been busy for Hyman who has worked on feature films including National Treasure, In Her Shoes, Annapolis and The Italian Job.

He is an avid Phila Eagles fan and hopes to one day compete in the World Series of Poker.

Julian Ruhe
Location Scout & Rental Coordinator

Julian Ruhe, the Gentle Giant of Philadelphia locations is one of the hardest working people in the regional film industry since coming to the Delaware Valley in 2000. Originally hailing from the great expanses of Western Pennsylvania, Julian cut his teeth in the movies on such films as Mothman Prophecies and Wonder Boys. During the past two years he has been the work horse of the department wrangling locations for the CBS-TV show Hack, Sci-Fi Channel's- The Buried Secret of M. Night Shyamalan and Annapolis.

He is our most talented and creative photographer.

Julian is currently working to produce his first independent film, which he is currently financing through location cone rentals and smuggling moonshine across state lines.

Charles Washington Jr
Location Scout & Production Coordinator

The Moral Compass of Bluestone Road, Charles Washington is the anchor in the storm of a production crisis. Always calm, arrising to challenges and meeting problems head on like a linebacker putting his shoulder to the tackle, Charles is an invaluable asset to the Bluestone Road team. His presense and demeanor in potentially volatile situations is unmatched by anyone in the business today.

Charles is also a native Philadelphian, who attended both Central High and Temple University. He has undertaken numerous positions in the film production world working on numerous national commercials for Reebok, Chunky Soup and Visa, music videos for
Roc-A-Fella records and films including National Treasure, Snipes, Beloved, and most recently The Woodsman.

Though he is a ardent Philadelphia sports fan, his greatest passions are for his family, his community and in his church life. Charles believes strongly in the maintainence of the moral character and strives towards such, reminding himself that it is in struggling for others that we find ourselves the better.

And though he has never bought a bootlegged movie, if you ask him, he might know where you can get one.
